ABRIDGED BIOGRAPHY
José-Luis Peydró is an Associate Professor (with Tenure) at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, an Affiliate Prof. at Barcelona GSE, a Research Advisor at Bank of Spain (Financial Stability Department), a Research Fellow at IESE Public-Private Sector Research Center, will be a Visiting Scholar at International Monetary Fund on Spring 2012, and currently has a leave of absence from the European Central Bank.
His research interests are in Banking, Macro and Micro Prudential Policies, Central Bank policies including Monetary Policy, Financial Crises, Macroeconomics and Credit, and International Finance.
He has published his research in the top academic journals in both Economics and Finance as the American Economic Review and the Review of Financial Studies. He has presented his research in top universities as Harvard and MIT and in conferences as the American Economic Association, American Finance Association, CEPR and NBER. His main policy areas have been macro-prudential, stress-testing, liquidity injections in interbank markets, bank capital requirements, bank lending behaviour and monetary policy, and he has presented in major policy organizations as the Board at DC and New York Fed, IMF, ECB, BIS, Bundesbank, Bank of Spain, Bank of Austria, De Nederlandsche Bank and Bank of England. He has also presented at major policy conferences as the 5th ECB Central Banking Conference.
He holds a PhD in Finance from INSEAD and a Master in Economics from CEMFI. He was awarded by the Government of Spain with the First Prize to the Student with Highest GPA in Finishing a BA in Economics in Spain in 1998.
